I don’t know if you accept questions but do you think it’s appalling from a design perspective to have a shoe rack first thing walking in the front door? I prefer for folks to remove shoes before entering so it seems logical but potentially unaesthetic. I like the idea that the shoes are getting fresh air on an open rack though!

I appreciate the question! I don't think it's appalling, but I also don't know that guests typically think to put their shoes on the host's shoe rack. So I wonder about a boot tray by the front door, which I think is a nice way to contain footwear, and the shoe rack in a different location. But no, not appalling, and it's important to acknowledge your priorities! I hope this is helpful.
